ABOUT US
Serene Park Retirement Center (SPRC) is owned by the Wesleyan Church of Southern Africa, Trans-Natal District. February 2025 the SPRC has been in operation for 37 years in the Garsfontein area and operates on a “Life Rights” basis.
The Center has 77 cottages for sale, from 1 to 3 bedroom units, as well as 40 flats including bachelors that are within the main building.
There is also a Frail Care, that we like to call a Care Centre run by Care Vita, available for the residents of the Center should it be necessary. The Frail Care is supervised by qualified nursing sisters with health care workers to assist with the patients.
A doctor from MenlynMed comes every Thursday to visit the center to do consultations on a weekly basis.
A physiotherapist is also available for appointments.
S.P.R.C is very close to the Menlyn Node and a Shuttle Service takes residents to Menlyn Shopping Center and Glen Fair Shopping Center on Wednesdays for two and a half hours, between 09:00 and 11:30.
Daily Lunch is provided in the dining room (C.O.F.F.E.E Shop) made by Boulevard Catering. All units have a small kitchen to prepare meals.
There is also a Resident’s Committee that assist the Trans-Natal Retirement Centres Board by bringing residents needs to the attention of management.
Reverend Dewaal Willemse is the Manager and he is ably assisted by Ms Annelie van der Bank, Mrs Rachel van Rensen, Mrs Petro Willemse, Mrs Nicolene Goosen and Mrs Gerdha van der Westhuizen
The comfort of our residents is our soul aim and we are constantly looking at ways to ensure this.

Serene Crafters – Creativity with a Cause
An outreach program of Pretoria Wesleyan Church
Every Tuesday at 10:00, a special group of ladies known as the "Golden Girls" gathers in the Chapel /Recreation Hall at Serene Park Retirement Centre.
These talented women come together to chat, knit, craft, and share meaningful moments—using their creativity to bless others and build community.
Whether you're experienced or just curious, all are welcome to join in the fun, fellowship, and purpose

Looking for connection, fun, or a bit of mental challenge?
Join us at the C.O.F.F.E.E Shop for puzzles, games, and a variety of social activities that bring residents together in a relaxed and joyful space.

Tuesdays & Saturdays at 07:30 – For the more physically able, join our group walks through the beautiful Garsfontein suburb and enjoy some fresh air and light exercise.

Wednesdays at 16:00 – A gentle walk within the centre grounds, specially arranged for those using strollers or who prefer shorter distances.

BIBLE STUDY
Weekly Bible Studies & Sermons – Growing in Faith Together
You're warmly invited to join our Afrikaans Bible Study every Tuesday at 16:00 and our English Bible Study every Thursday at 16:00, both held in the Upper Room.
Each Thursday, we also host a weekly sermon delivered by preachers from various denominations—offering spiritual encouragement for all our residents.
Come grow in faith, fellowship, and understanding.

DAILY LUNCH
Boulevard Catering supply our residents with a healthy meal each day at lunch time. You have an option to sit in our dining hall with the other residents or have your meal at home.
ASSISTED LIVING
There comes a point in everyone’s life when they may need some assistance or are no longer be able to take care of themselves. Unfortunately, careers and other matters of modern life can often make this a difficult task. Serene Park Retirement Centre provides the support that retirees and their families require, including a Care Centre & Assisted Living services, run By Care Vita. A doctor visits to the centre on a weekly basis and consults with patients. A physiotherapist is also available for appointments. These consultations would be covered by Medical Aids.
