ABOUT US
Serene Park Retirement Center (SPRC) is owned by the Wesleyan Church of Southern Africa, Trans-Natal District and is a ministry of the Pretoria Wesleyan Church. The SPRC has been in operation for 36 years in the Garsfontein area and operates on a “Life Rights” basis.

The Center has 77 cottages for sale, from 1 to 3 bedroom units, as well as 40 flats including bachelors that are within the main building.
​
There is also a Frail Care, that we like to call a Care Centre run by Care Vita, available for the residents of the Center should it be necessary. The Frail Care is supervised by qualified nursing sisters with health care workers to assist with the patients.
​
A doctor from MenlynMed comes every Thursday to visit the center to do consultations on a weekly basis.
​
A physiotherapist is also available for appointments.
S.P.R.C is very close to the Menlyn Node and a Shuttle Service takes residents to Menlyn Shopping Center and Glen Fair Shopping Center on Wednesdays for two and a half hours, between 09:00 and 11:30.
Daily Lunch is provided in the dining room made by Taste Like Home. All units have a small kitchen to prepare meals.
There is also a Resident’s Committee that assist the Management Board of the SPRC by bringing residents needs to the attention of management.
Pastor Dewaal Willemse is the Manager and he is ably assisted by Ms Annelie van der Bank, Mrs Rachel van Rensen and Ms Lisa Wilson.
The comfort of our residents is our soul aim and we are constantly looking at ways to ensure this.
ACTIVITIES
Our calendar of activities is carefully planned so that every resident has the chance to participate in a range of programs that will enrich their lives physically, mentally, and socially. Whether participating in active or passive activities, taking part in our offerings is a great way for residents to be happier and healthier by leaving loneliness behind and participating in healthful and engaging activities.
SERENE CRAFTERS
Serene Crafters is an outreach program originating from the Pretoria Wesleyan Church.
The people involved are a group of “Golden Girls” who meet every Tuesday at 9:30 in Serene Park Retirement Centers Recreation Hall.
These dear ladies come together to chat, knit and do a variety of crafts and enjoy time together.

GAMES
If you feel like playing a game, you can join us in the dinning hall for a game of bingo. Or on Friday in our recreation hall for other board games and spend time with friends.
BIBLE STUDY
Come join us every Wednesday for Bible study's, given in English and Afrikaans, in our Upper Room.
We also have a Sermon given every Thursdays with Preachers from different denominations to suite all the residents.

There is also a Shalom Bible study every Thursday afternoon at 16:00.
EXERCISE
Care Vita Exercise Class
Join us very Monday & Thursday for a exercise class to keep your blood moving and you smiling. Standing and seated classes are provided.
HAIR SALON
We have a Hair Salon that's open once a week to cut and style you hair to keep you looking and feeling good.
LIBRARY
Looking for something to read? Come visit our library every Tuesday & Thursday and look for your favorite authors and enjoy time spent in another world.
SENIOR LIVING SERVICES
DAILY LUNCH
Boulevard Catering supply our residents with a healthy meal each day at lunch time. You have an option to sit in our dining hall with the other residents or have your meal at home.
ASSISTED LIVING
There comes a point in everyone’s life when they may need some assistance or are no longer be able to take care of themselves. Unfortunately, careers and other matters of modern life can often make this a difficult task. Serene Park Retirement Center provides the support that retirees and their families require, including a Care Centre & Assisted Living services, run By Care Vita. A doctor come to the center on a weekly basis and consult with patients. A physiotherapist is also available for appointments. These consultations would be covered by Medical Aids.

The C.O.F.F.E.E SHOP is a place where you can enjoy breakfast, cake, coffee, tea and good fellowship.

The shop offers a range of activities, from puzzles to balloon games, ensuring there's something for everyone. At The C.O.F.F.E.E. Shop, every cup comes with a side of connection and care.
